Reporting to the Finance Manager; The Logistics Manager will be responsible for the definition and management of all logistics strategies and systems in the organisation, as well as overseeing the correct implementation of all logistics activities of the organisation.

The Job Profile

• Define and set up the logistical strategies in the organisation.

• Develop, implement, revisit existing concept etc on logistical plans, schedules and procedures.

• Co-ordinate with the clearing agents, liaises with banks/import control, and attends to relevant formalities and ensures a speedy clearance of all imports.

• Handle all aspects of cargo insurance, both local and foreign, including the lodging and settlement of insurance claims.

• Plan, direct, and monitor all logistics activities to ensure a cost-effective flow of all imports.

• Manage day-to-day logistics activities to maximise the efficiency, reliability, timeliness, and cost effectiveness of the organisation’s logistics.

• Lead, direct, evaluate, and develop logistics staff to ensure that resources are used effectively and work schedules and targets are met.

The Skills

• High degree of work management and excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.

• Result-oriented, self-motivated, with good interpersonal skills.

• Excellent planning and organisational ability.

• Computer proficiency, especially in MS Office Management skills.

• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

• Ability to work with a team in an intense environment.

10 years of relevant experience in logistics field in a reputed organization
